Conference Theme

The conference is organized annually under the theme of "Unity in Diversity". This theme offers the opportunity to include a wide range of topics in the conference program that are of personal and professional interest to foreign language teachers. The presentation language at the conference can be either English or Turkish.

Types of Presentations

A 30‐minute session that describes what you are doing, or have done, in relation to theory and practice or that focuses on teaching materials, products or any experience related to teaching context. In addition, the topics can be related to ELT or Non-ELT areas and you can focus on professional or personal development. Its content must be of relevance, use or inspiration for delegates who work outside your institutional context. We strongly recommend that you focus on the most salient points (3‐4 points max) of your subject matter, use visual aids during the session and include some interaction with the audience. We also request you allow adequate time for a Q&A session.

A 45 minute session of tasks aimed at creating a discussion between participants through activities designed by the presenter and helping participants to understand their experiences through active participation. These activities are expected to increase the interaction between participants and encourage information sharing, participation in role-play / animation activities, product design, and action plan development. The proposals for such activities should clearly state when and how the interactive activities will be performed within the workshop.

Poster presentations include the presentation of a poster enriched through visual tools such as graphics, figures, tables, and so on detailing empirical studies carried out by the presenter and/or creative project ideas. In the proposals of the posters to be presented within this scope, the details of the project or the study should be stated clearly. Presenters are expected to be available in the presentation space allocated for poster presentations and to give brief information about their study.
